Raymond Mitchell

Ray Mitchell is currently the Legal Counsel for the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, District Council 39 (Atlantic Canada) and also represents several other construction labour organizations. He regularly appears before arbitrators, labour boards, tribunals and courts and has extensive experience with collective bargaining and advising unions on strategic and governance issues. Ray is also a regular presenter at legal education programs, where he speaks on labour related topics, and currently serves as the Vice President of the Mainland Nova Scotia Building and Construction Trades Council.

In addition to Ray's labour practice, he has served as a Reserve Officer in the Canadian Forces for 28 years, where he currently holds the appointment as the Deputy Judge Advocate General – Reserves. Ray is a graduate of the University of New Brunswick Law School, and was called to the Bar in 1994.
