Christopher Rootham

Christopher Rootham is a partner with Nelligan O'Brien Payne LLP in Ottawa. Chris practises in the Labour Law and Employment Law groups, advising employees and trade unions with regard to labour, constitutional, and administrative law issues and privacy and personal information issues. He has also prepared complaints to the Information Commissioner concerning requests under access to information legislation and has prepared materials for privacy litigation in the Federal Court.

Chris co-teaches the Employment Law course at the University of Ottawa. He has published his first book on Labour and Employment Law in the Federal Public Service. He has also authored a number of articles in the Canadian Labour & Employment Law Journal on labour law, employment law, and human rights law.

Chris holds an LL.B. from Queen's University and an LL.M. (labour law) from the London School of Economics in 2001. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 2002.

He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Canadian Association of Labour Lawyers.
