Janice Ashcroft

Janice Ashcroft has been with the Alberta Human Rights Commission for the past 14 years. Prior to her current role as counsel to the Chief of the Commission and tribunal members, she represented the Director of the Commission at tribunal hearings and all levels of court, including the Supreme Court of Canada. Janice has acted as lead counsel in many important human rights cases involving the duty to accommodate, sexual harassment in the workplace, accessibility issues affecting people with disabilities, and racial discrimination. She has also presented at national conferences, workshops, and seminars on human rights and employment-related issues.

Janice was called to the Alberta Bar in 1991, and was appointed Queen's Counsel in 2014.
