Gary Gannage

Gary Gannage left the Ontario Public Service in August 2015, after a career of 35 years in various roles including financial, administrative and policy positions within the Ministries of Health and Long-Term Care, Community and Social Services, Finance, Management Board and Treasury Board. Drawing on a career in public service and labour relations, coupled with his ongoing work as an advocate and community activist, Gary provides advice and counsel in the areas of labour/management relations, public policy, government relations, strategic planning, and organizational and community development.

Gary served as AMAPCEO's President and CEO for 19 years from November 1995 until December 2014. The Association of Management, Administrative and Professional Crown Employees of Ontario (AMAPCEO) is the second-largest bargaining agent in the Ontario Public Service, representing 12,000 professional and supervisory public servants who work directly for the Government of Ontario in every ministry and in a number of agencies, boards and commissions. During Gary's tenure as President and CEO AMAPCEO had been named one of Canada's Top 100 Employers and one of the GTA's Top Employers for many years and one of Canada's Top 20 Family-Friendly Employers in 2009, the only union to have ever received these distinctions.
