Janice Rubin is co-founder and Managing Partner of Rubin Thomlinson LLP, a Toronto-based law firm focused on providing legal solutions to challenging workplace issues to employer and employee clients. The firm provides expert counsel on all legal issues pertaining to the workplace such as hiring, retaining and terminating employees, disability accommodation, performance management and employment contracts. The firm’s clients are amongst Canada’s leading corporations and employers. Janice and her partner Christine Thomlinson have twice been nominated for the prestigious RBC Canadian Woman Entrepreneur Awards.
While recognized for her depth of expertise in all areas of workplace law, Janice is considered a leading authority in the area of workplace harassment. Certified as a workplace investigator, Janice is entrusted to act as a neutral third party in conducting investigations into allegations of harassment, bullying and poisoned work environment and other employee misconduct. In 2007, together with partner Christine Thomlinson, Janice co-authored Human Resources Guide to Workplace Investigations, published by Canada Law Book. She is also a highly skilled mediator in workplace disputes.
Janice graduated from the University of Toronto and Osgoode Hall Law School and was admitted to the Bar of Ontario in 1991. She graduated from Harvard University’s Basic and Advanced Negotiation Skills program in 1997 and the CDR Associates mediation course in 1998.
