Robert Monti

Robert Monti joined Carleton University as In-House Counsel, Director of Labour Relations, Employee Relations and Compliance in 2014. Prior to this, he practiced employment and labour law in the Ottawa area at one of Ottawa's most prominent employment and labour law firms, where he was a partner and practice group leader of the employment practice group. Robert has handled a wide variety of litigation matters before the courts and arbitration boards. These include the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Ontario Divisional Court and Court of Appeal, the Ontario Labour Relations Board, and the Canada Industrial Relations Board. During his years in private practice Robert represented individuals, unions, and employers in labour and employment matters. He is also a speaker, writer and lecturer on employment and labour issues, and taught employment law at the University of Ottawa, Faculty of Law (2006-2011).

Robert holds a Bachelor of Journalism, Combined Honours with Law from Carleton University (1988). He was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1993.
