Monica Bokenfohr is in-house counsel with Alberta Health Services' labour and employment department in Edmonton. The majority of her work involves arbitration and human rights matters, including settlement negotiations, mediations, and appearances before hearing panels. Monica also provides advice and support on labour relations and human rights issues, including the implementation of policies and best practices for employee management.
Monica previously worked as a labour relations officer with Alberta Health Services and its predecessor, Capital Health, where she acted as a nominee on arbitration boards, participated in collective bargaining, conducted sensitive workplace investigations, and advised on a wide range of employee management issues. Prior to her time in the health care industry, she was an associate in a large private law firm, where she maintained a general litigation practice. Monica was called to the Alberta Bar in 2001, after receiving an LL.B. from the University of Alberta.
