Daria Strachan

Daria Strachan practises with the law firm of Shields Hunt Duff Strachan, particularly in the areas of employment law, labour law, human rights, administrative law, and civil and commercial litigation. She has a wide range of advocacy experience at trial and appellate levels of the provincial and federal courts and also appears before various administrative tribunals. Prior to rejoining Shields Hunt Duff Strachan, Daria worked at a large, full-service law firm in Toronto, at an Ottawa-based full-service law firm, and at the Department of Justice Canada.

In addition to her law practice, Daria is a workplace investigator, as well as an adjudicator for the Canadian Internet Registration Authority's Resolution Canada, an online dispute resolution service for domain name disputes. She volunteers as duty counsel, advisory counsel, and amicus (friend of the court) with Pro Bono Ontario at the Ottawa Courthouse. Daria also volunteers as pro bono counsel with Reach Canada, helping people with disabilities access justice. She recently taught Civil Procedure as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Law (common law).

Daria holds an LL.B. in Common Law from Queen's University and an LL.B. in Civil Law from L'Université de Sherbrooke. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 2001.
