Dr. Greg Passey
Dr. Greg Passey specializes in trauma psychiatry with a focus on PTSD and related stress disorders. He currently works in private practice in Vancouver with a primary focus on military personnel, RCMP, and veterans. Greg has been deeply involved in a number of plaintiff lawsuits against the RCMP that have involved harassment and abuse of power.
Greg initiated the first outreach program in Canada to specifically assess and treat PTSD in Canadian UN peacekeepers. He deployed to Rwanda in 1994 to assess and treat mental health issues in Canadian Forces personnel, and from 1993 to 1995, he was involved in research on the epidemiology of PTSD and depression in Canadian Forces peacekeepers serving in the former Yugoslavia. In 1995, Greg received the Laughlin Fellowship from the American College of Psychiatrists for research and leadership in the field of psychological consequences of UN peacekeeping. He was also awarded the Sarah Haley Memorial Award for clinical excellence in the field of PTSD by the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies in 2004.
