Erin Oliver

Erin Oliver has been active in health and safety for 27 years. She joined Modern Niagara Group in 2015. In her current role as Vice President, Health, Safety & Sustainability, Erin manages the company's national health and safety program, which ensures that all employees work in a secure environment. Her role also includes corporate social responsibility, wellness, and sustainability. Prior to joining Modern Niagara, she was a consultant for 21 years.

Erin has been a Canadian Registered Safety Professional since 2000 and has participated in the Application Review Committee, and she is a member and current Chair of the Prevention Council of Ontario. She also teaches courses in the Master of Professional Kinesiology program at the University of Toronto and has taught in forensic kinesiology at the University of Guelph–Humber. She is a team member with research at the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health and works with CPWR, both in the U.S. She is an active member of the provincial Labour Management Health & Safety Committee for pipe trades and a contributor to the Ontario General Contractors Association's Safety Committee.

In October 2020, Erin was honoured with the Avetta Award for Canada's Safety Leader of the Year from Key Media and Canadian Occupational Safety magazine. Erin has won both the Gil Samson Award and the Roy A. Phinnemore Award from the Infrastructure Health & Safety Association for her service to safety in Ontario's construction sector. She was awarded the 2019 Recognition Award from the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals. A Past President of the Ontario Kinesiology Association and currently registered with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario, Erin was given the 2011 President's Award for Lifetime Achievement from the Ontario Kinesiology Association in recognition of her efforts on behalf of workers throughout the province, including leading the team that saw regulation of kinesiology into Ontario legislation. The Institute for Work & Health has named Erin an Educational Influential in both kinesiology and health and safety. 

Erin holds a B.Sc.Kin. from Laurentian University and a business diploma from Sheridan College. She is currently completing an M.B.A. at McGill University on a part-time basis.
