Sarah E. Atkinson

Sarah E. Atkinson conducts investigations in an independent, neutral capacity into human rights and other workplace issues. She also provides mediation, facilitation, and assessment services for workplace conflict, as well as training on human rights, harassment, conflict resolution, and other issues in the workplace and on how to conduct workplace investigations. Sarah has focused her practice on assisting parties to resolve workplace disputes constructively.

After practising in-house with a union for over six years in federal labour relations, Sarah moved to private practice with a leading human resources law firm for several years, where she focused on representing management in the areas of human rights, employment standards, and labour relations. Since 2004, she has worked in her independent, third-party role with a wide range of federally and provincially regulated organizations, in both public and private sectors. She was appointed as a member of the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal in December 2014.

Sarah holds an LL.M. in Labour Relations and Employment Law from Osgoode Hall Law School and an Advanced Certificate in Dispute Resolution from York University. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 1993, and she was called to the Quebec Bar from 1994 to 2011.
