Michael Mandarino

Michael Mandarino practises in the areas of labour law and professional regulation/discipline at Cavalluzzo LLP, providing advocacy in grievance arbitrations and at professional colleges for health care professionals including nurses, naturopaths, pharmacists, and midwives. He is an experienced litigator who provides legal advice and advocacy in labour arbitrations and mediations, Ontario Labour Relations Board proceedings, and professional regulatory college proceedings. He has appeared before arbitrators, mediators, review boards, and various administrative tribunals. He has also appeared as counsel at the trial- and appellate-level courts in Ontario.

Michael's labour law practice includes representation in the health care, public, and private sectors for nurses, postal workers, and other industrial workers. His grievance arbitration practice includes discipline, collective agreement interpretation and application, health and safety, human rights, and long-term disability matters. He is also a member of Cavalluzzo's Construction Labour Law group.

Michael has provided effective governance advice to health professional associations and other not-for-profit associations related to legislative responsibilities and requirements. In this capacity, he has advised on policy and professional governance, discipline issues, and legislative reform. He has reviewed institutional bylaws and constitutions and provided advice related to operational compliance with these governing documents.

Michael holds a J.D. from the University of Ottawa (2012). He was called to the Ontario Bar in 2013.
