Gordon Forsyth

Gordon Forsyth, Q.C., is a partner in the Halifax office of Pink Larkin. Gordon represents employees and trade unions before a variety of administrative tribunals, including Workers' Compensation Appeal Tribunals in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador, the Labour Relations Boards of Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador, the Construction Industry Panel of Nova Scotia, and the Canada Industrial Relations Board and before arbitrators appointed under either a collective agreement or a statute.

A number of construction trade unions in the province rely on Gordon's representation. He has also represented trade unions in the Supreme Court and the Appeal Court of Nova Scotia, the Supreme Court and Appeal Court of Newfoundland and Labrador, and the Supreme Court of Canada. Gordon was selected by his peers for inclusion in the 2019 Best Lawyers in Canada in the field of labour and employment law.

Gordon served as Chair or Co-Chair of the Labour Law Subsection of the Canadian Bar Association in Nova Scotia from 1987 to 1993. He was involved in drafting the Commercial Arbitration Act of Nova Scotia, has contributed articles for the Nova Scotia Law News, and has participated in a variety of seminars on labour and employment law. From 1998 to 2007, Gordon taught the Preparation of a Witness section of the Bar Admission Course for the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society.

Gordon was called to the Nova Scotia Bar in 1984 and the Newfoundland and Labrador Bar in 1993.
