Randy Bauslaugh

Randy Bauslaugh leads McCarthy Tétrault LLP's national Pensions, Benefits & Executive Compensation practice. He has been involved in many of the leading pension and benefit cases over the past 30 years. Randy advises on plan governance, plan mergers, restructurings and conversions, surplus repatriation, deficit management, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) factor integration. He has lead negotiations relating to pension and benefit issues and acted as a mediator and arbitrator in pension-related labour disputes. Randy is a registered lobbyist on pension policy issues and a professional expert trustee of employee benefit plans. His clients have included the United Nations and foreign and domestic governments.

Randy is a respected speaker on pension issues in Canada, the U.S., Europe, and Africa. He has been a leader of several professional and industry associations, including the International Pension & Employee Benefits Lawyers Association and the Canadian National Exhibition Association. He is listed in Who's Who Legal: Canada, International Who's Who Legal, Chambers Global: The World's Leading Lawyers for Business, Best Lawyers in Canada, and The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory, and he enjoys the highest rating granted to lawyers for professional competence and integrity in the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory.

Randy holds a B.A. from the University of Waterloo and an LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 1983.
