Dionne Pohler

Dr. Dionne Pohler is the Acting Director at the Centre for Industrial Relations and Human Resources at the University of Toronto, where she holds the CIBC Chair in Youth Employment. She is also cross-appointed to the Rotman School of Management and a research fellow with the Centre for the Study of Co-operatives at the University of Saskatchewan, where she previously held positions at both the Edwards School of Business and the Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy.

Dionne's prior research is on the impact of employment laws, organizational governance, unions, human resources practices, and employment systems on employee and organizational outcomes. Her current research projects investigate labour and social policy implementation, the gender earnings gap, the impact of COVID-19 on businesses and workers, and co-operative economic and social development.

Dionne was a founding board member of Co-operatives First, a non-profit organization dedicated to working with rural settler and Indigenous communities to address the needs identified by community members.

Dionne holds a BComm. from Dalhousie University and a Ph.D. in Human Resources and Industrial Relations from the University of Alberta School of Business.
