Alan Arcand is Chief Economist at Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME).
As part of the National Policy team, he leads CME’s major national research initiatives, which include producing economic forecasts, developing policy reports, and designing and managing surveys. He also supports the association’s government relations and public engagement efforts, regularly presenting to manufacturers, policymakers, and other key audiences.
Before joining CME, Alan spent 20 years with The Conference Board of Canada where he held multiple roles, including the Associate Director of the Centre for Municipal Studies. Alan’s background includes expertise in municipal, regional, and national economic matters, with a focus on economic forecasting and policy.
Alan has an M.A. in Economics from Queen’s University and a B.A. in International Relations from the University of Windsor.
