Lancaster House Staff
A writer and editor at Lancaster House for over 20 years, Boris is managing editor of Leading Cases on Labour Arbitration, and has served as managing editor of the Canadian Labour and Employment Law Journal since 2003. In addition, he is a co-author of Lancaster’s Unionized Workplaces in Canada and Collective Bargaining Series. A member of the Bar of Ontario, Boris practised labour law for over 15 years, appearing before numerous boards of arbitration and other tribunals. He is a graduate of the University of Toronto, Queen’s University, and Osgoode Hall Law School.
Jessica obtained her Bachelor of Arts and Science from the University of Guelph and her law degree from Western University. In her spare time, she can be found spending time with family and friends, wondering how we can make the world a better place, and enjoying warm drinks, adventures in nature, and most puns.
Leila was called to the Ontario Bar in 2020 and clerked at the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. Following her clerkship, Leila worked as a staff lawyer with the Community Justice Collective and union-side labour lawyer with Morrison Watts Labour and Employment Lawyers. Leila obtained her Bachelor of Arts & Science and Master of Arts from McMaster University, before going on to complete her law degree at the University of Victoria.
In her spare time, Leila enjoys reading, watching movies at the local cinema, checking out new restaurants with friends, and both literally and figuratively, running around the city.
As a negotiator, Jeffrey has bargained with the government for physicians, and with hospitals for residents. As a union nominee on interest arbitration boards he has represented, among others, firefighters, college and university faculty, and health care support staff. As an adjunct professor, he lectures on international labour law at the University of Toronto and acts as Associate Editor of the Canadian Labour and Employment Law Journal.
Jeffrey is the recipient of the Gérard Dion Award from the Canadian Industrial Relations Association (CIRA) for outstanding contributions to Canadian labour law and the Bora Laskin Award from the University of Toronto Centre for Industrial Relations and Human Resources.
