Chris Montigny is a partner at HR Atlantic, who advises on labour negotiations, labour relations, arbitrations, and general employment issues.

When it comes to labour relations and issues in the workplace, Chris sees the bigger picture. Clients are well served by Chris’s collaborative and collegial nature. Through this approach, he helps clients find resolutions that further their interests while maintaining positive working relationships; Chris strives to provide pragmatic and sustainable solutions to workplace issues.

Chris has been actively working in litigation and dispute resolution since 2001. Chris regularly represents clients in grievance arbitration hearings, before labour boards and other administrative tribunals as well as in all levels of court in Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia. With experience in a large regional law firm and provincial legal services, Chris draws on an extensive advocacy and litigation background to represent clients.

Chris’ collaborative approach and advocacy background are also effective in labour negotiations. This is a growing area of Chris’s practice. He has already acted as chief spokesperson for a number of public and private sector employers in Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia.

Chris received his Doctor of Laws (J.D.) from the University of Toronto in 2001, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from UPEI in 1998. He is member of the Law Society of Prince Edward Island and the Nova Scotia Barristers Society.
