David Patacairk is a Senior Legal Counsel with the City of Ottawa. Following articles at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP, David worked with the Canadian Human Rights Commission as a Senior Complaints Analyst.
David joined the City in 2006 as a consultant, investigating allegations of harassment and other human rights violations and providing training to management and staff about their roles and responsibilities under human rights legislation. In 2009, David joined the City’s Litigation and Labour Relations Branch, where he specializes in human rights, labour and employment law. In 2022 he became Team Lead for the Employment and Labour Relations branch where he manages a team of lawyers and labour relations professionals in responding to his client’s workplace needs.
David is a graduate of Carleton University (B. Hum.) and the University of Toronto (Juris Doctor).
