Elisabeth Finney is union counsel at Black Burke Mayor LLP, dba Black Gropper in Vancouver. She has been working in union-side labour law for over 13 years. She began working at a small Vancouver firm, practising workers’ compensation law and labour arbitration. She then moved in-house, working for eight years for several large public sector unions in British Columbia. While working in-house, she resolved grievances at the local level, ran arbitrations, assisted in collective bargaining, negotiated essential service levels, facilitated union member education workshops, and provided advice to local stewards. In 2020, she moved back to private practice at Black Burke Mayor LLP, dba Black Gropper where she assists union clients with a variety of matters including professional regulation matters, arbitrations, and human rights related issues, including long term disability benefit appeals and accommodation matters.

Elisabeth holds an LL.B. from the University of British Columbia. She was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2009.
