He/Him

Fridmar Facunda is currently the Supervisor of OPSEU/SEFPO’s Member Equity Unit which specializes in initiatives and programs centred on establishing greater equity and inclusion from within the union’s membership. He has a specific focus on anti-Black racism, anti-racism, and harassment and discrimination contrary to the Ontario Human Rights Code.

He was also previously the Supervisor of OPSEU/SEFPO’s Member Education Unit where he oversaw the development and rollout of the union’s first-ever course dedicated to dismantling anti-Black racism.

Prior to these roles, he worked as a Bilingual Human Rights Officer making many significant contributions to OPSEU/SEFPO’s Equity Unit. They included organizing the union’s first-ever biennial Francophone Conference in 2015 and its subsequent conferences in 2017 & 2019.

Fridmar has also worked with Indigenous communities from across the province. By walking the path of truth and reconciliation with Indigenous people, it meant working to decolonize systems that have traditionally left their communities at a disadvantage.
