Jasmine Billing-Smit was called to the Alberta Bar in 2018, and prior to joining Neuman Thompson she was an associate at a mid-size regional firm in Edmonton where her practice focused on civil litigation including construction, employment, condominium, and commercial matters. Jasmine practises in all areas of labour and employment law, including collective bargaining, certification drives, human rights complaints, wrongful dismissal claims, privacy law, drafting workplace policies and agreements, and labour arbitration. Jasmine has experience representing employers in a wide variety of sectors.
Jasmine graduated from the University of Alberta Faculty of Law in 2017. During law school Jasmine was on the executive of the Women’s Law Forum and volunteered with Student Legal Services.
Prior to earning her Juris Doctor, Jasmine earned her Bachelor of Arts with Distinction at the University of Alberta, majoring in Political Science. Outside of the practice of law, Jasmine enjoys attending row and spin classes at her favourite local workout studios. She also likes to spend quality time with her family, especially the family dog who is quite a character.
