He/Him

Michel Nungisa is a lawyer, workplace investigator, and workplace assessor based in Russell, Ontario. He is the founder and lead counsel of Nungisa Law Professional Corporation, where he focuses primarily on workplace investigations, workplace assessments, and labour and employment matters.

Called to the Ontario Bar in 2013, Michel brings a multidisciplinary perspective to his work, shaped by experience in legal practice, labour relations, and organizational advisory roles. Before founding his firm, he served as both in-house counsel for a construction union and a Labour Relations Officer for a professional association. In those roles, he advised managers, organizational leaders, and association members on workplace disputes, disciplinary processes, collective agreement interpretation, and risk management. These experiences provided him with a practical understanding of how workplace issues unfold and how organizations can address them fairly and effectively.

Michel now conducts independent workplace investigations and assessments for public- and private-sector organizations across Canada. His work often involves complex and sensitive matters, including allegations of harassment, discrimination, abuse of authority, breakdowns in workplace culture, and anti-black racism. In addition to investigations, he assists organizations through workplace assessments designed to identify systemic issues affecting psychological safety, communication, and organizational functioning. His approach emphasizes procedural fairness, neutrality, and careful fact-finding.

Michel works fluently in both English and French and regularly conducts investigations, interviews, and assessments in both languages. His bilingual practice allows him to serve diverse workplaces and ensures that participants can express themselves in the language in which they are most comfortable.
