Robert Basque, KC/cr, is a labour arbitrator and mediator. His preferred areas of practice are civil litigation, in particular administrative law, labour and employment law, and corporate disputes. Robert is the former chair of the New Brunswick Employment Standards Tribunal and was the president of the Law Society of New Brunswick from 2006 to 2007. He is the current chair of the Law Society of New Brunswick’s Discipline Committee. Robert had been on numerous Boards of Directors, including for Blue Cross Life Insurance of Canada, Canada Lands Company Limited, Canadian Transportation Lawyers Association, and the University of New Brunswick Board of Governors. He has been the chair on the boards of Chamber of Commerce for Greater Moncton, Moncton Boys & Girls Club, New Brunswick Celebrate Canada Committee, Resurgo, Inc., Rotary Club of Moncton, and Moncton Area Lawyers’ Association.

Robert has taught Labour Relations at the Université de Moncton Law School and frequently gives seminars to boards of directors and regulators on governance issues and privacy rights.
