Sasha Hart is the founder and principal lawyer of Sasha Hart Law, where she practises in the areas of employment, human rights, and non-profit/charity law. She provides fractional general counsel services to unions, charities, and other social justice-oriented non-profit organizations. In addition, she also represents individuals in employment and human rights matters.
Sasha’s past roles have included serving as general counsel for the Public Service Alliance of Canada, litigation counsel for the Canadian Human Rights Commission, and legal counsel for an international non-profit organization engaged in litigation and law reform advocacy relating to gender-based violence. She has also taught human rights law as a part-time Professor at the University of Ottawa.
Sasha is actively involved in the legal community. She currently serves on the board of the Women’s Legal Education and Action Fund (LEAF), and on the Advocacy Committee of the Canadian Association of Black Lawyers. She is a 2021 recipient of the Lexpert Rising Star Award: Canada’s Leading Lawyers under 40.
