Stephanie Mayor joined Black Burke Mayor LLP as an associate lawyer in 2009 and as a partner since 2020. She provides specialized and strategic legal advice on labour and employment, human rights, privacy, workers’ compensation, and administrative law matters to union and non-union clients. She has also represented clients before provincial court, the Supreme Court, and the Court of Appeal; and regularly appears before the Human Rights Tribunal, the Labour Relations Board, the Workers’ Compensation Board, the Workers’ Compensation Appeal Tribunal, the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner, and various private arbitrators. She also has considerable experience presenting at various labour, employment, and human rights conferences.
In addition to her experience as an advocate for unions and employees with Black Burke Mayor, Stephanie worked as in-house legal counsel for the British Columbia Labour Relations Board and the British Columbia Employment Standards Tribunal. In that role, she advised the Board and the Tribunal on a variety of labour, employment, and administrative matters and appeared before all levels of British Columbia courts on applications, judicial reviews, and their appeals.
