Tatiana Wacyk has both a J.D. and a Master of Law from Osgoode Hall Law School, specializing in Administrative Law. She has also completed the Advanced Alternative Dispute Resolution Workshop with the Faculty of Law, University of Windsor, and a Harvard/MIT Program on Implementing Labour – Management Agreements.

Ms. Wacyk has been an adjudicator and mediator for more than 20 years. She has adjudicated and/or mediated grievances under a collective agreement; as well as disputes in the areas of wrongful dismissal; personal injury; contractual disputes; various heads of tort; employment standards; occupational health and safety; workers’ compensation; and human rights.

In addition to her arbitration and mediation practice, Ms. Wacyk is currently or has been a member of the following panels: Ontario Labour Relations Board; Ontario Minister of Labour and Labour Canada List of Approved Arbitrators; Grievance Settlement Board; Office of Adjudication; Workers Compensation and Appeals Tribunal (now Workers Safety and Insurance Tribunal); the Financial Services Commission; the Hepatitis C Settlement Agreement Panel; and the Personal Injury Panel of ADR Chambers.

Ms. Wacyk has taught Alternative Dispute Resolution and Advanced Alternative Dispute Resolution at the University of Toronto Law School, as well as Alternative Dispute Resolution at Queen’s University Law School. In addition, she has taught “Tribunal Decision-Making” to members of the Canada Pension Plan Review Tribunal; “Adjudicative Skills” for the Society of Ontario Adjudicators and Regulators; “Hearing and Decision Writing Skills” to the Board of Referees for Employment Insurance; and “Negotiation Skills” in the Bar Admission Course.

Ms. Wacyk is the past chair of the Labour Relations Section of the Ontario Bar Association. She is currently a member of the Ontario Labour-Management Arbitrators Association.

Prior to becoming an adjudicator, Ms. Wacyk was in-house counsel, and Director of Policy and Research for the Ontario Human Rights Commission. She has also served as Executive Assistant to the Deputy Minister of Labour.
