Niki Lundquist is the Senior Director of Equity and Education at Unifor, where she leads strategic initiatives focused on advancing equity and human rights within the union. Niki has been a driving force in the protection and promotion of workers’ rights, particularly in the areas of accommodation, harassment, and conflict resolution. She has a keen interest in the gender dynamics that manifest in workplaces. Before stepping into her current role, Niki served as in-house counsel to Unifor and its predecessor, the Canadian Auto Workers (CAW), where she was cross-appointed to both the Legal and Human Rights Departments. She also held the position of National Staff Liaison for Workers with Disabilities, providing invaluable guidance and support for workers facing unique challenges.
Niki has an extensive and successful track record of advocacy, having represented workers before labour and human rights tribunals and courts across Canada. Known for her expertise in conflict resolution, mediation, and workplace investigations, she continues to provide legal and strategic counsel on a wide array of human rights matters. She frequently lectures on human rights issues including accommodation, anti-harassment policies, and conflict resolution within unionized workplaces and within unions. Her passion for education and training has made her a key resource for unions and employers seeking to foster more inclusive, respectful, and safe environments for workers.
Called to the Bar in 2004, Niki holds an LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School and remains committed to advancing justice, equity, and respect for all workers across Canada.
