Marino Sveinson is a partner at Pulver Crawford Munroe LLP in Vancouver, British Columbia and also practises in the Yukon. Marino has focused exclusively in the area of workplace law throughout his career. He represents employers with unionized and non-union employees in both the provincial and federal sectors on human rights matters, wrongful dismissal matters, labour relations issues, collective agreement disputes, employment contract drafting and interpretation, privacy obligations including access to information requests, workers’ compensation, corporate restructuring and acquisitions, and disputes over obligations of departing employees. Marino also conducts collective bargaining and regularly provides strategic advice and representation with respect to strike contingency planning and strike related activity.
Marino has represented clients at all levels of the courts in B.C., federal courts, collective agreement arbitrations, human rights tribunals, provincial and federal labour relations boards, workers’ compensation tribunals, and regarding complaints to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of British Columbia. Marino has been regularly ranked by his peers in the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory in Workplace Human Rights, Employment, Labour Relations, and Workers’ Compensation areas of workplace law. He is also ranked in Chambers Canada for employment and labour law in B.C. and recognized in Best Lawyers in Canada – Labour and Employment.
Marino holds an LL.B. from the University of Toronto and a B.A. from the University of British Columbia. He was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2000 and the Yukon Bar in 2014.
