Heather Hettiarachchi is a lawyer, mediator, investigator, and the founder of Integritas Workplace Law Corporation. Heather’s practice is focused on all aspects of workplace law arising in unionized and non-unionized workplaces. She has extensive experience in conducting workplace investigations, resolving workplace conflicts using alternative dispute resolution practices, and representing clients in human rights, privacy, employment standards, and labour relations matters. She is passionate about workplace integrity and focuses on educating clients on using best practices in the workplace and taking proactive measures to avoid or minimize workplace conflict.
In addition to legal expertise, Heather has hands-on labour relations and human resources management experience, including managing human resources at a large private insurance company and at the University of British Columbia and acting as Labour Relations Advisor to Vancouver Community College.
Heather coaches and trains all levels of employees, conducts workshops on a wide range of workplace matters, and is a frequent speaker at seminars and webinars. She is actively involved in the Canadian Bar Association and has served on the executive of a number of sections including as the current vice-chair of the Small Solo and General Practice Section.
Heather holds an LL.B. and an M.Sc. in Training and Human Resources Management. She is also a certified human resources professional, holding Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) and Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) designations in Canada and the U.S. Heather is also a qualified mediator and holds a Q.Med designation from the ADR Institute of Canada.
