Leanne Anderson is currently Member Service Officer at the Association of Administrative and Professional Staff (AAPS) at the University of British Columbia (UBC) where she has been since 2019. AAPS is the labour association for the Management and Professional Staff group at UBC which represents over 6,000 members in collective bargaining and dispute resolution with UBC.

Leanne has served in a number of different leadership capacities, including president and bargaining committee chair for Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 15 which represents 8,000 members and 18 collective agreements, including City of Vancouver staff, Vancouver School Board, Vancouver Coastal Health, Emily Carr University staff, and Langara College staff. She has also focused her work on equity and diversity issues in the workplace including serving on the CUPE BC Executive Board as the Indigenous Diversity Vice-President and the CUPE National Indigenous Council. Leanne has worked in many different facets of the labour movement. She spent 20 years as a steward supporting, advising, and representing members on workplace issues. Her mother was from Sts’ailes a sovereign Coast Salish First Nation where her grandfather was hereditary Chief.
