Peter Eastwood is a lawyer at HHBG Lawyers in Vancouver with a diverse practice that encompasses labour, employment, administrative law, and professional discipline. Called to the bar in 2003, he has represented workers from a wide range of industries and professional backgrounds, and has appeared before most courts and employment-related tribunals in British Columbia.

Peter often assists both workers and unions with matters involving illness and disability in the workplace, including human rights and accommodation, disability claims, and workers’ compensation claims and appeals. He has extensive experience with WorkSafeBC issues, including claims, safety and discriminatory actions, appeals before the Review Division and Workers’ Compensation Appeal Tribunal, and judicial reviews of WCAT decisions.

Peter has regularly presented and spoken on workplace and disability issues at conferences and seminars, including past presentations at Continuing Legal Education of British Columbia (CLEBC) conferences, Lancaster House conferences, and Canadian Bar Association Employment Law subsection meetings. In 2022, he was the co-chair of the CLEBC Workers’ Compensation Law Conference in Vancouver. He has also served as adjunct faculty and an instructor at the Pacific Coast University for Workplace Health Sciences, where he has taught courses on employment law and human rights.

Peter has been selected by his peers to be listed in the annual editions of The Best Lawyers in Canada in the practice areas of labour and employment law and workers’ compensation law, one of the only employee-side lawyers to be included. He is also listed in the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory in the Employment (Employee) practice area.
