Chris Roberts is the National Director of the Social and Economic Policy Department of the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC), Canada’s largest central labour body. In addition to overseeing the work of the department, he is responsible for research and strategic advice in the areas of pensions and investments. For over a decade, Chris has served as trustee and investment advisory committee member for pension plans large and small, and recently completed a 5-year term as member of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries’ Professional Conduct Board. Chris studied political economy at York University in Toronto, receiving his Ph.D. in 2003 and subsequently publishing several books and research articles on pensions in Canada. He lives and works in Ottawa.
