Rachel Roy specializes in labour and employment law and election and campaign law. Rachel also provides legal advice in human rights cases and workers’ compensation matters and assistance to organizations to ensure their campaigns comply with electoral, privacy, and Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) rules.

Rachel provides representation at arbitration and various tribunals and courts, including the B.C. Labour Relations Board, the B.C. Human Rights Tribunal, the Canadian Human Rights Commission, the B.C. Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner, and provincial and federal electoral regulatory bodies. She is also an instructor/lecturer at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) School of Business, teaching employment law to managers and human resources professionals.

During her legal studies, Rachel was an intern at the Review Division of WorkSafeBC and the B.C. Provincial Court in Surrey. She later worked for the Office of the Chief Judge. Rachel articled with a labour law firm in downtown Vancouver before being called to the British Columbia Bar. Rachel has also served as in-house counsel for Canada’s New Democratic Party during the 2015 federal election.

Rachel studied law at the University of Manitoba and the University of British Columbia. She also studied international law, including internet law, at Leiden University, Netherlands. She is an International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) Certified Information Privacy Professional for Canada. She is called to the British Columbia Bar.
