Michael McFadden is a labour and employment lawyer who became a full-time vice-chair of the Ontario Labour Relations Board in 2014. Michael was appointed alternate chair of the Labour Board in November of 2024. Michael also carries on an active private mediation and labour arbitration practice.
Prior to joining the Labour Board, Michael spent his entire legal career as a lawyer in private practice with an exclusive focus on employment law and labour relations. At the outset of his legal practice, Michael acted exclusively for trade union clients. Later, and continuing up to the time he joined the Labour Board, Michael acted exclusively for employer clients. Michael was for many years, before joining the Labour Board, a partner in the employment and labour law practice group of a major international law firm.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws degree from Queen’s University.
