Dr. Hajera Rostam is a Registered Psychologist in British Columbia (CPBC #2275). She is a proud Canadian, having settled in Canada as a refugee from Afghanistan after the Soviet Invasion of her homeland. She completed her doctorate in Counselling Psychology and an internship at UC Berkeley. She is a psychologist in private practice in Vancouver, and contracted by WorkSafe BC, Veterans’ Affairs, and Interim Federal Health programs in addition to clients seeking direct mental health services through their extended health programs. Dr. Rostam has developed a specialization in treating depression, vocational rehabilitation, trauma, anxiety, and stress-related problems. She also has extensive experience working with university and college students, as well as international, immigrant, and refugee populations. Dr. Rostam provides evidence-based treatment that includes CBT approaches, Mindfulness-based stress reduction, EMDR, and Emotion-Focused therapy.
