Shelley Solomon is a national representative with the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), specializing in labour relations, collective bargaining, and strategic advocacy. With more than 20 years of experience, she has represented workers across a wide range of public and private sector workplaces, navigating complex and high-stakes labour relations environments.

Shelley began her career in union organizing and later served for over 16 years as a Labour Relations Officer with the Health Sciences Association of Alberta (HSAA), where she helped lead the largest organizing drive in the union’s history. She has extensive experience in collective bargaining, grievance arbitration, and dispute resolution, and is particularly recognized for her collaborative work with employers on accommodation practices and attendance management programs.

A graduate of the University of Alberta with a focus on Political Sociology and Cultural Anthropology, Shelley brings a thoughtful and pragmatic approach to advancing workers’ rights. She is known for building effective working relationships and developing practical, creative solutions to complex workplace challenges.

Based in Calgary, Shelley enjoys hiking and skiing in the mountains with her dog, Bernie.
