Innis Christie is a labour arbitrator. He retired from teaching at Dalhousie Law School in 1993, after teaching law since 1971, and previously at Queen’s University since 1964. He has taught Labour Law throughout his career, and for the last fifteen years he has jointly taught with Eric Slone a course in “Administration of the Collective Agreement” which focuses on the law and practice of grievance arbitration. He will continue to teach that course on a part-time basis as long as anyone is interested. Professor Christie is a former Chair of the Nova Scotia Labour Relations Board, a former Deputy Minister of Labour for the Province and, more recently, Chair of the Nova Scotia Workers’ Compensation Board. He is the founding author of the Butterworth’s looseleaf text now edited by Professor Geoffrey England, Employment Law in Canada.
