Fae Johnstone is a trailblazing trans woman, small business owner and 2SLGBTQIA+ advocate. She is an organizer, speaker and consultant. She is a leading advocate for queer and trans communities, rights, health and safety in Canada. For 10 years, she has challenged Canadian governments to advance systemic change for 2SLGBTQ+ communities.

Fae is the executive director and co-owner of Wisdom2Action, a national consulting firm and social enterprise that works with nonprofits, health and social services and governments on organizational development, community engagement, and 2SLGBTQIA+ inclusion. Alongside her team, she helps organizations thrive, be inclusive and work strategically.

Fae was named an “Emerging Social Impact Leader” by The Peak, a “Top 30 Social Purpose Newsmaker” by Future of Good and “One of Ten Spectacular Canadian Women to Watch” by Notable Life. She was the 2016 recipient of LGBT Youth Line’s Trans Activist Award and the 2017 recipient of an Ontario150 Community Leadership award. She is the first trans woman to serve on the YWCA Canada and Oxfam Canada boards of directors.

She is a loving spouse, pet mum (currently 2 ferrets and a cat) and coffee aficionado. She is of primarily Scottish and Irish ancestry, daughter to two former public servants, a middle child, and grew up in small towns before moving to Canada’s capital.
