Amandi Esonwanneis a lawyer in the Employment Law Section of the City of Toronto’s Legal Services Division. After getting his J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School, he articled with the Ministry of the Attorney General of Ontario in the areas of employment standards and occupational health and safety law before being called to the Ontario Bar in 2006. Since 2007, he has practised law in Toronto, with a focus on human rights law, labour and employment law, occupational health and safety law, workplace investigations, and workers’ compensation.
Amandi has published articles in Canadian Employment Law Today, the Canadian Journal of Administrative Law & Practice, and The Advocates’ Quarterly (on accommodation under the Human Rights Code). He also presented at conferences and seminars, including for Lancaster House and the International Municipal Lawyers Association, on human rights.
Amandi also holds a B.A. (Hons.) in English from the University of Nigeria, a M.A. in English from the University of Toronto, and a Certificate in Technical Communication from George Brown College.
