Angella MacEwen is the Senior Economist at the Canadian Union of Public Employees. Her primary research focus is understanding the Canadian labour market, broader economic trends, and the impacts of government policy on workers. Angella is also a Research Associate with the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives, a Policy Fellow with the Broadbent Institute, and on the board of Canadians for Tax Fairness. She recently co-authored a book on wealth inequality and tax policy in Canada titled: Share the Wealth! How we can tax Canada’s super-rich and create a better country for everyone (Lorimer, 2021).
Angella holds an M.A. in Economics (Dalhousie, 2007) and a B.A. in International Development Studies (Saint Mary’s, 2005).
