April Kosten is a partner and the practice lead in the Employment and Labour group in Denton Canada’s Calgary office. Her practice focuses on management-side labour, employment, human rights, administrative, and privacy law.

April advises and represents employers on a number of matters including collective bargaining and the administration of collective agreements, employee terminations and departures, provincial and federal human rights issues, and the interpretation and application of labour and employment legislation both federally and provincially. In addition, April conducts third-party workplace investigations for companies and has extensive experience in advising on workplace health and safety matters, including alcohol and drug testing.

April has appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada, the Court of Appeal of Alberta, the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta, the Alberta Court of Justice, the Alberta Labour Relations Board, and boards of arbitration. She holds a B.A. from the University of Calgary, an LL.B. from the University of Alberta, and was called to the Alberta Bar in 2009.
