Chantel Kassongo is a partner with Neuman Thompson in Edmonton, Alberta, where she acts for employers in a diverse range of employment and labour matters, including conducting collective bargaining and collective agreement administration, advising on discipline, terminations, defending wrongful dismissal claims, human rights and labour relations complaints, and grievance arbitrations, in both federal and provincial jurisdictions. Chantel has appeared as counsel before courts, arbitration boards and federal and provincial labour relations boards. Her extensive practical knowledge of labour and employment law is based on both private and corporate experience. Before joining Neuman Thompson in June 2010, Chantel was the Director of Global Labour Relations for Viterra Inc., and prior to that she practised labour and employment law in Saskatchewan. Chantel presents at conferences and seminars dealing with labour and employment law topics.

Chantel holds a B.A. (Hons.) and an LL.B. from the University of Saskatchewan. She was called to the Saskatchewan Bar in 2005 and the Alberta Bar in 2010, and she is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and former director of the Regina Bar Association.
