Christina Atanasova is a Professor of Finance at Simon Fraser University (SFU) and a visiting professor at the Center for Policy Design at the Graduate School of Economics and Management, Tohoku University, Japan. She also holds the Philip Hochstein ICBA Fellowship and is currently the Associate Dean Research and the Academic Director of the Ph.D. Program at the Beedie School of Business. She holds an M.Sc. in Finance from the University of York and a Ph.D. in Finance from Leeds University Business School. She joined SFU in 2007 from the University of York and held a tenure-track position (2004 to 2007). As a finance researcher, she has published academic articles in leading journals. As a teacher, she has taught undergraduate and graduate students in Canada, the U.K., New Zealand, and France and has supervised several Ph.D. students to successful completion.
