David Olsen is a part time member of the Federal Public Sector Labour Relations and Employment Board (FPSLREB). He was previously vice-chair of that Board. He conducts hearings concerning the administration of collective bargaining in the federal public sector and hears and adjudicates grievances arising out of the collective agreements between the government as employer and public-sector unions. David has more than 40 years of experience in the areas of labour, employment, and human rights law, and has held roles as Senior Counsel for the Department of Justice, Assistant General Counsel for Canada Post Corporation, responsible for its labour and employment law practice and vice-chair with the Public Service Labour Relations Board (PSLRB). David was also a full-time member with the Canada Industrial Relations Board, where he participated in the conduct of hearings and in-board deliberations, mediated disputes, and authored decisions involving all manner of applications under the Canada Labour Code. A long-standing member of the Law Society of Ontario, he was a part-time professor of labour law at the Faculty of Law, University of Ottawa, and he is an occasional lecturer for continuing education seminars and conferences on labour, employment, and human rights law, as well as pay equity.

David holds a B.A. from Carlton University, an LL.B. from Queen’s University, and an LL.M. from McGill University.
