Dr. Renée-Louise Franche, Clinical Psychologist, is a consultant in Work Ability Promotion and Organizational Health, for private insurance companies, health authorities, unions, and universities. She is also Senior Manager of Mental Health Services at WorkSafe BC. She holds an adjunct professor position at the UBC School of Population and Public Health, and is adjunct scientist at the Institute for Work & Health in Toronto. Dr. Franche has a solid background as a clinician, manager, and researcher. She has a special interest in work ability issues related to chronic, episodic health conditions and to multimorbidity. She focuses on how to optimize return-to-work and stay-at-work processes for workers with health conditions and injuries, with employers, health providers, and employees. She has led several systematic reviews including reviews of workplace-based return-to-work interventions, and of work disability in rural areas. With over 50 peer reviewed publications in work disability prevention, her work has been influential in the development of innovative policies in the insurance world, and of Best Practices in work disability prevention. Throughout her career, Dr. Franche has been committed to bridging the gap between research and front-line practice to a wide range of audiences.
