Edith Bramwell was appointed as Chairperson of the FPSLREB in April 2021.
Ms. Bramwell a holds a BA (hons) degree from Queen’s University, an LLB from the University of Western Ontario and an LLM from Osgoode Hall Law School, with a specialization in dispute resolution.
Following her judicial clerkship at the Federal Court of Appeal, Ms. Bramwell served for five years as a legal member of the Ontario Review Board (then the Ontario Criminal Code Review Board). After more than 25 years of labour law advocacy for one of Canada’s largest trade unions Ms. Bramwell was appointed to the Canadian Human Rights Commission, where she served as a full-time Human Rights Commissioner for two years, prior to her current appointment.
Ms. Bramwell is a member of the Law Society of Ontario.
