Dr. Elizabeth (Liz) Aram, PsyD is a Clinical Psychologist licensed in Ontario and Illinois. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from York University in Toronto and completed her master’s and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
Dr. Aram has trained across university settings, community mental health centres, and private practice environments, with a longstanding commitment to social justice, diversity, and anti-oppressive clinical work. Over the past decade, she has developed specialized expertise in trauma and LGBTQ+ mental health. Her clinical focus includes the treatment of complex trauma, depression, anxiety, relational and intimacy concerns, codependency, family conflict, personality dynamics, body image issues, grief and loss, and major life transitions.
Her integrative approach draws from evidence-based modalities including relational psychodynamic therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), alongside advanced training in Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT). Dr. Aram is particularly interested in the intersection of trauma, attachment, identity development, and emotional regulation.
She founded a private practice in Chicago, which she continues to maintain virtually, and currently practises primarily at Foresthill Centre in Toronto. In addition, Dr. Aram serves in a supervisory role at NeuroInclusive, where she oversees neurodiversity-affirming comprehensive psychodiagnostic assessments.
Dr. Aram has presented on topics including trauma-informed care, mindfulness, stress and emotional regulation, interpersonal violence, sexual health, and body image. Outside of her clinical work, she enjoys spending time in nature, practising yoga, reading, and writing for the broader community.
