Graeme Johnston is a senior labour relations officer at Health Sciences Association of B.C. (HSA), where he has worked since 2021. He practises front line labour relations with a number of different employers and collective agreements in acute and community health care and social services. Prior to working at HSA, he served as the elected provincial president of the BC Ferry & Marine Workers’ Union (BCFMWU) for two terms from 2015 to 2021.

Graeme’s experience includes leading bargaining negotiations between B.C. ferries and BCFMWU; as employer for 14 unionized staff; mediation and arbitration (acting and instructing); board, committee, and other roles at provincial, Federal, and international organizations and union federations; and day-to-day contract administration, management, and dispute handling.

In his spare time, Graeme enjoys playing hockey, skiing, hiking and spending time with his partner and their two cats, Murphy and Gilbert. He resides on the unceded ancestral lands of the Squamish, Musqueam, and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations in the settler community of North Vancouver.
