Gretchen Brown is Associate General Counsel for the British Columbia Teachers’ Federation. Gretchen provides advice to the BCTF on bargaining, collective agreement implementation, disability benefits, and health and wellness programs. Gretchen is also the BCTF’s Privacy Officer. Gretchen has been in house counsel at the BCTF for more than 20 years. Prior to working at the BCTF, Gretchen worked for a small firm where she represented employees, unions, non-profit organizations, and First Nation governments. Gretchen has a Bachelor of Arts from Simon Fraser University and a Bachelor of Law from the University of British Columbia. Gretchen is a member of the Canadian Association of Labour Lawyers, the Canadian Bar Association’s Labour Law Section, the Canadian Association of the Practical Study of Law in Education, and an International Associate member of the American Bar Association.
